Drifting
I'm Free... off on a two month vacation no work, no home, no real resposibilities except to experience something different.
Today the experience was heat, even in an air conditioned RV it was hot driving down the road. 10pm was hotter than 3pm, stopped for the night in a canyon cut deep by a small stream in the Virgin River Valley about 3 hours outside Vegas. Can't run the generator all night so we choose to use the rv batteries power sent through an inverter to power a small fan which blew over us all night. I think it was over 95 all night. We did get to swin in or wade in the small stream running through this valley, but it was like bath water, and by the time we got back to the RV we has to take a shower. But a shower in our own home on wheels, how sweet it is.
By the way this is what this monster looks like.
A few pictures of the Virgin River Valley
Next stop Red Canyon in the Dixie National Forest just before Bryce Canyon
By the way I won't be telling a story as we travel across the States. I want this to be my life, to be in it at the moment. I'll be fighting against visiting historic buildings and sites to a degree, I want to live in todays moment in time, not yesterdays. Stephanne has other ideas and those photos will be appearing from time to time.
And from Red Canyon up the road just 20 miles to Bryce Canyon
And from Bryce to Capitol Reef Utah. Go there. The drive alone from Bryce to here is fantastic, and don't forget to stop for Coffee at the Kiva Koffee House along the way there. We chatted with guy here who was displaying his art. Turns out to be an early 20th century furniture expert and restorer who need a bicycle repair in a very small town just up the road 20 miles. I had my bike tools with me and some parts and stopped by his house, met his GF, and fixed a bicycle right there in the road outside their home.
Did someone ask if Jane is having fun?
Next Stop Meeker Colorado. To visit our good friends who moved there about 5 years ago. What a beautiful 15 acres they own now. A couple horses some chickens and space, glorious space. Anabelle and Jane played like best friends, and we did July 4th in downtown Meeker. We all had a blast. By the way this was the first town that qualified and scored very high points for my search for Mayberry...did I mention that I wanted to find Mayberry?
Tough to leave the simple life of Meeker but we had to get goin. On our way to
The Great Sand Dunes in colorado, via Leadville through the Rockies
